Fort Worth encourages residents to trade a few Saturday hours for cleaner neighborhoods safer public spaces and a stronger sense of shared civic pride this March
Fort Worth, Texas – Registration has opened for the 41st annual Cowtown Great American Cleanup, a citywide effort that will bring Fort Worth residents together on the morning of Saturday, March 28. Scheduled from 8 to 11 a.m., the event invites people across the community to spend a few hours collecting litter and caring for shared public spaces.
Organizers with Keep Fort Worth Beautiful say the cleanup is designed for broad participation. Individuals, families, neighborhood groups, schools, churches, and local businesses are all encouraged to take part. Volunteers may choose to clean areas close to home—such as neighborhood streets, parks, or school grounds—or join one of several designated hub locations throughout the city.
Early registration also comes with an incentive, as the first 3,000 participants will receive a free event T-shirt, while all registered volunteers will be provided with litter-cleanup supplies.
The day’s activities extend beyond trash collection. The City of Fort Worth will host a scrap tire drop-off at Fort Worth City Hall from 8 a.m. to noon, offering residents a free way to dispose of unwanted tires. Passenger vehicle tires, small-equipment rubber tires, rims, and similar items will be accepted, provided they are clean and free of debris or liquids. Commercial and 18-wheeler tires are excluded.
Officials note the effort helps curb illegal dumping, reduce landfill waste, and limit potential fire hazards.
Following the cleanup, volunteers are invited to gather for the Earth Party, a community celebration featuring food, games, activities, and the annual Trashion Fashion Show. Designers of all ages can submit wearable creations made from at least 50 percent recycled or discarded materials, with entries due by March 25.
City leaders describe the event as a simple but meaningful way for residents to contribute to a cleaner Fort Worth—whether by picking up litter, recycling old tires, or joining neighbors in a shared day of service.
