H Mart in Fort Worth’s Haltom City

Fort Worth, Texas – H Mart, the foremost Asian supermarket chain in the United States, is set to inaugurate a new store within a mixed-use development situated in Haltom City, Texas. The ethnic grocery giant will serve as the anchor for the 50-acre development, located at the southeast corner of Loop 820 and Beach Street in the Fort Worth suburb.

H Mart continues expansion in North Texas

The decision to open a new location in north Texas aligns with the rapid growth of the Asian population in the region, outpacing all other demographic groups according to U.S. Census data. As of now, Asians constitute 5.5% of the Texas population, a figure that rises significantly in many of the northern counties of the state.

With a presence spanning over 120 stores in 14 states, H Mart has firmly established itself as the preeminent Asian supermarket chain in the U.S. At present, it boasts six stores in Texas, situated in Katy, Austin, Carrollton, Plano, and Houston, where it operates two locations. In addition to offering the standard fare found in neighborhood grocery stores, H Mart prides itself on its extensive collection of multicultural grocery items, enriched by its three-decade long tradition of incorporating food halls into its outlets.

H Mart in Fort Worth will be full scale supermarket

The upcoming Haltom City store will occupy 16 acres within the new retail center. Not only will it feature a sit-down food court, but it will also include a bakery, a home goods section, a selection of beer and wine, kitchenware, beauty products, and more. The store will also cater to health-conscious consumers, offering a range of premium, better-for-you options.

Construction of the development site, which will encompass approximately 50-60 commercial outlets, including restaurants, merchandise retail stores, and distribution and logistics centers, is slated to commence as early as 2024.

Most recently, the grocer expanded its operations with the opening of a store in Brookline, Massachusetts on August 4. H Mart also announced huge project in Koreatown in Dallas.

Headquartered in Lyndhurst, New Jersey, H Mart ranks 82nd on The PG 100, Progressive Grocer’s 2023 list of top food and consumables retailers in North America.
