Mesquite ISD elementary school teacher has been fired for posting highly offensive statements on Twitter
Mesquite, Texas – In an unanticipated announcement that has resonated deeply within the community, the Mesquite Independent School District (ISD) confirmed the termination of a teacher’s employment from Thompson Elementary School following the discovery of “alarming, racist statements” that she disseminated via her account on X, the social media platform formerly identified as Twitter.
Mesquite ISD officials first became aware of the incident on Monday
The matter came to the district’s attention at approximately 4 p.m. on Monday, August 7th, subsequent to which the personnel staff were galvanized into immediate action, launching a comprehensive and meticulous investigation into the disconcerting allegations.
“As of this morning, the employee is no longer part of the Mesquite ISD organization and is not eligible for rehire,” the district said in a statement Tuesday.

“Nevertheless, the highly offensive statements posted to her X account do not reflect the values and standards of Mesquite ISD, and the district condemns them in the strongest terms,” the statement concluded.
