North Texas veterans and motorcycle clubs coalition has joined forces with groups from other states to form Task Force Amory to help Mississippi town
Amery, Mississippi, a small rural town, has been devastated by a series of tornadoes recently. In response, a coalition of North Texas veterans and motorcycle clubs has joined forces with groups from other states to form Task Force Amory. Their mission is to fill a 26-foot Ryder truck full of relief supplies for those who have lost everything.
The Veteran’s Resource Outreach Center (known as VROC) in Rowlett, Texas, has been established as a drop-off point for supplies donations. This includes medical mobility devices, non-perishable food items, baby food and diapers, Gatorade, tarps, tools, buckets, cords, toiletries and more. The generous donor who provided the Ryder truck has even offered to cover the costs for an additional truck if they collect enough supplies to fill it.
Volunteer groups from Oklahoma and Louisiana are also lending a helping hand and are coordinating their efforts to collect and deliver donations to Amory by Sunday, April 2. Donations can be dropped off at the VROC located at 4210 Industrial Street in Rowlett or at The Rowlett Food Pantry at 4501 Rowlett Rd.
The Task Force Amory initiative has been gaining traction and has received an outpouring of generous donations from the community. This has been a heart-warming example of individuals from all walks of life coming together to help those in need.
Organizers are encouraging people to continue to donate supplies until Friday, March 31. With the help of the community, they are hopeful that they will be able to fill two Ryder trucks with much-needed supplies and deliver them to Amory by Sunday.
