Bath House Cultural Center invites Dallas visitors into artists’ creative process on June 20
Dallas, Texas – Dallas residents looking for a closer look at the city’s current art scene will have that chance on Saturday, June 20, when the Bath House Cultural Center hosts a public conversation with artists featured in its latest exhibitions.
The event is scheduled for 4 p.m. and will bring together ShabNam Modjarrad, Penny Wright, Wayne Winn and Steven Kinder for a discussion centered on their work, their creative paths and the ideas behind the pieces now on display. The artists are part of the center’s current exhibitions, “Made in Plastic II,” “The Eye of the Artist” and “Second Surface.”
Rather than simply viewing finished pieces on a gallery wall, visitors will be invited into the thinking behind them. The conversation is expected to explore how the artists approach materials, where their inspiration begins and how personal ideas become public works of art. Guests will also be able to ask questions, giving the afternoon a more direct and personal feel.
The Bath House Cultural Center, long known as a space where local and regional creativity meets the public, is presenting the program as an opportunity for artists, art lovers and curious visitors to connect in the same room. For those who may not regularly attend gallery talks, the event offers a simple way to better understand contemporary art without needing formal background or experience.
The featured exhibitions each bring a different perspective to the center’s galleries. Together, they create a setting where the artists can speak not only about individual works, but also about broader themes, choices and creative challenges. For visitors, that can turn a gallery visit into something more layered: a chance to hear the story before, behind and beyond the artwork.
The conversation is free and open to the public. More information about the event is available through the Bath House Cultural Center at https://bathhouse.dallasculture.org/artists-conversation-june-2026/.
For questions, the center lists Jessica Trevizo as manager, Analise Minjarez as cultural programs coordinator, Stewart W. Mikkelsen as performing arts and technical coordinator, and Enrique Fernández Cervantes as curator and visual arts coordinator. The June 20 program gives the public a direct path into the exhibitions now on view, with the artists themselves leading the way.
