Mesquite Animal Shelter to offer free pet adoptions on Aug. 26
Mesquite, Texas – In the heart of the nation’s annual Clear the Shelters initiative, the Mesquite Animal Shelter renews its commitment to the cause. This nationwide campaign, designed to foster pet adoption and stimulate charitable donations, runs throughout the entire month of August.
Mesquite Animal Shelter to offer free pet adoptions on Aug. 26
Come Saturday, August 26, the Shelter is preparing to host an exclusive single-day event, dedicated entirely to pet adoption. As a means to promote the cause and encourage potential adopters, the establishment has taken the initiative to waive all customary fees. Prospective pet owners will have the opportunity to adopt a shelter pet that has already been sterilized, vaccinated, and microchipped.
“We’re proud to participate in Clear the Shelters and put on this event,” said Hugo Espinoza, Animal Services Manager. “We truly hope to help find every animal in the shelter a forever home on Aug. 26.”
Mesquite Animal Shelter will implement lower pet adoption fees throughout August
Apart from this remarkable day, the Shelter has implemented a plan to reduce pet adoption fees throughout August. Anyone who contributes to the City’s Spread the Love campaign, by donating a jar of jelly, peanut butter, or seed butter, will be eligible for this benefit. The Shelter has a dedicated collection bin for Spread the Love, a campaign geared towards combatting child hunger within the Mesquite community.
Unable to adopt a pet? The Mesquite Animal Shelter welcomes alternative forms of support during the Clear the Shelters month. Financial contributions, as well as donations of items from the Shelter’s Amazon Wish List, can make a significant impact. Last year’s campaign set a new record with over 161,000 adoptions and succeeded in amassing over $540,000 in donations.
