Officer with the Fort Worth Police Department fired following February’s off-duty incident
Fort Worth, Texas – A Fort Worth law enforcement official has been relieved of his duties in the wake of an off-duty incident that transpired in Boyd, Texas this past February, as stated in a formal announcement by the department.
The Fort Wort police officer was involved in off-duty incident in Boyd
The small-town Boyd police force found themselves responding to a situation in which the subsequently dismissed officer, identified as Michael Williams, was a central figure. The encounter took place on February 17, within the confines of a local establishment where Williams purportedly found himself embroiled in a heated exchange of words with staff members.

Even more troubling was the assertion that he brandished his firearm in such a manner as to incite a palpable sense of dread among the employees, who feared not only for their own safety but also for that of the patrons present, according to the police report.
In response to the emergence of the disturbing details surrounding the incident, the Fort Worth Police Department (FWPD) promptly initiated an internal administrative probe. Concurrent with this investigative process, Williams was relegated to restricted duty, effectively divesting him of his law enforcement privileges.
The conclusion of this thorough investigation bore grim news for Williams. The police department’s findings indicated that Williams had been guilty of breaching several of the department’s regulations. Consequently, Chief Neil Noakes took the decisive step of terminating Williams’ employment, in a move reflecting the department’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of conduct among its ranks.
“The Fort Worth Police Department will continue to hold employees accountable who do not meet the standards expected of a Fort Worth Police Officer and in doing so, will continue to be transparent and open with our community,” Fort Worth Police Department said in a statement.
