Situated strategically in the burgeoning North City Development, the Fort Worth location will find its home along N. Tarrant Parkway, nestled between Interstate 35W and U.S. Highway 287. The site, approximately 10 miles south of the Texas Motor Speedway, is seen as a significant addition to Portillo’s growing Texan portfolio.
Portillo’s in Fort Worth will have garage-style design with two drive through lanes
Continuing the trend set by the Portillo’s restaurant that opened in The Colony earlier this year, the Fort Worth establishment will be distinguished by its garage-style design. Additional features will include a double-drive through, designed to cater to the needs of the busy modern diner, and an outdoor patio, ensuring a diverse and welcoming space for guests.
“Since opening our first location in Texas this past January, we have loved serving fans from all across the Dallas-Fort Worth area,” says Portillo’s CEO Michael Osanloo. “We quickly followed the successful opening of our restaurant in The Colony by announcing plans to open restaurants in Allen and Arlington, and are thrilled to share additional plans to further expand into the DFW area. We can’t wait to bring our unrivaled Chicago street food to even more fans and newcomers in Fort Worth.”
While Portillo’s remains enigmatic regarding specific timelines for construction commencement or the restaurant’s grand opening, it is clear that the recruitment process is on the horizon. Hiring for managerial positions and shift leads is anticipated to begin imminently.

Earlier this year, Portillo’s confirmed further plans to grow its Texas presence with restaurants near Allen Premium Outlets and along South Cooper Street in Arlington. Adding to the fervor, the recent launch of Portillo’s promotional “Beef Bus” campaign in Allen has served as both a tantalizing sneak peek of its culinary offerings and an opportunity for job seekers interested in joining the forthcoming Allen location.
Earlier this year, The Dallas Morning News reported in February that Portillo’s was permitting locations in the Alliance area and a second spot in Rayzor Ranch in Denton. As of the date of this report, Portillo’s has yet to confirm the Denton location.
