Doggie Splash Day: Mesquite’s canine water wonderland returns for 17th year

Mesquite, Texas – In a delightful culmination to the summer season, the City of Mesquite is set to host its 17th Annual Doggie Splash Day—an event that not only offers a joyous experience but also an opportunity to gather endearing visuals or vibrant B-Roll footage. This jubilant occasion is slated to bring forth a myriad of activities for both canine companions and their owners.

Doggie Splash Day will take place on August 5 at The Vanston Pool

The Vanston Pool, situated at 2913 Oates Dr. in Mesquite, will be transformed into a canine haven from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 5. Featuring diverse amenities like a wading pool, lap pool, and one-meter diving board, the venue will be brimming with cheerful barks and splashes.

Competition is the centerpiece of this annual spectacle, with an array of contests meticulously designed to engage the spirited companions. With categories that include the whimsical Pet Swim Suit Contest, the entertaining Trick or Talent Contest, the energetic Paddle Race, and the adventurous Diving Contest, participants will have multiple avenues to showcase their pets’ unique abilities and panache.

The invitation extends beyond mere participation. Dog owners, along with their furry friends, are encouraged to either cool off in the pool, strive for the coveted prizes, or simply indulge in the playful ambiance of the event.

Mesquite’s Doggie Splash Day attendees must provide proof of up-to-date vaccinations for their pets

All attending pets must provide proof of up-to-date vaccinations and be under the supervision of a responsible person aged 16 or older. To maintain the harmonious atmosphere, dogs displaying aggressive or socially awkward behavior may be asked to vacate the premises. Lifeguards will be vigilantly on duty to ensure the safety of all attendees.

Admission to this highly anticipated event is set at a nominal fee of $5 for one owner and pet, with an additional charge of $2 for each subsequent pet and $1 for spectators. In a benevolent gesture, a $2 discount will be granted to those who contribute a jar of jelly, peanut butter, or seed butter. These contributions will aid the City’s commendable Spread the Love campaign, which is committed to nourishing the children in need within Mesquite.
